J-word
I have been wanting for some time to tell a story that would convey the nature of Jewish identity in Britain today. This novel will be published by Snowbooks early in 2009.

Argumentative, Yiddish-speaking, 80-year-old Dr Jack Silver has reluctantly returned to Golders Green to care for his 10-year-old grandson, Danny.
Unpredictable and outspoken but warm-hearted, Jack is resolutely secular and repudiates everything Jewish. His profoundly troubled son, now a successful middle-aged journalist, has followed in his footsteps, while the brilliant young Danny has been kept in ignorance of his heritage.
When Jack is beaten up by an antisemitic gang, it changes everything. He and Danny secretly set out to outwit and track down the thugs and bring them to justice.
The hunt takes Jack into memories of his own childhood and the two unlikely heroes discover a shared identity spanning generations that eventually draws the whole family together.

LOVE
After struggling for many years to write a novel that would honestly capture the complex mood and atmosphere of the hippy period, in 2005 I published Love, my first novel, as a print-on-demand title on the website Lulu.com. It can be bought from Lulu, or simply downloaded if preferred. The book is also available in both the US and the UK as a paperback which can be ordered from any bookshop or purchased online from Amazon and many other internet booksellers. See below for purchase options.

The euphoric, idealistic mood of the era of Love and Peace - and drugs, sex and rock music - is vividly evoked in this story of youthful rebellion, young love and growing up. It takes Angela and Simon across the world from California, to England, to North Africa, to a Greek prison, and at last to their goal in India. But each is pursuing a private, painful passion, and is being led to a different future.
