Community issues

Local community
I was involved in setting up an active NW London residents' association (called CLAN), chaired it from 1999 to 2009, and am closely involved with its campaigns.

Jewish community
Until 2004, I edited the Masorti movement's quarterly, Masorti Matters; sat on Masorti Council; and was Masorti's UK press officer, successfully transforming the image of Masorti, now accepted as the UK's moderate stream in traditional Jewish observance.
I have been a member of the Board of Deputies of British Jews, and was part of a group set up to encourage greater environmental awareness.
I have written on Jewish issues for the Jewish Chronicle.
I organise an annual Masorti memorial service for anyone who has lost a new baby.
